About the Magellan Foundation

Established in 1992, the Magellan Foundation seeks to link those who know what is necessary to improve the quality of leadership in education with the resources to make it possible. The Foundation grew out of a need recognized by the School Administrators Association of New York State to facilitate such improvements. The recognition of this need was followed by the realization that to effect true and lasting change, the involvement of community partners is necessary.

Magellan's classification as a 501C3 not-for-profit public foundation provides it the opportunity to create these partnerships for the betterment of New York's schools. This position allows the foundation to work in concert with other public and private foundations, as well as seek support from many sources, including state and federal grants and corporate philanthropic efforts.

The Magellan Foundation specializes in offering quality student and adult leadership programming.
